Interactive Talk - Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Performance Testing using Open Source Tool

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Performance Testing using Open-Source Tool

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications are designed to allow end users to communicate with system by using Voice and DTMF (Dual Tone Multi frequency) tones input using keypads. It is a telephony system, that allows user to dial a toll free/hotline number to hear IVR options to access information or direct calls to call center agents e.g., hotlines for essential services like hospitals, verify account balance, SOS calls etc.

ย

Covid-19 crisis has increased the digital adoption, resulting in high utilization of IVR services.ย  Performance Testing is required to check robustness of telephony system and calls quality for high volume of concurrent users.

ย

There are various tools available for IVR Performance Testing โ€“ Commercial and Opensource, which give information on Call rate, Total Calls created, Successful Calls, Failed Calls, Response Time, and various other parameters. This paper talks about how we can analyse and test the performance of IVR applications with an open-source tool.
