Problem statement: Cloud-based applications require optimal configuration of cloud resources to minimize costs and establish a resilient framework. Organizations hosting cloud applications in various environments faces challenge of ensuring high performance while effectively managing costs.
Achieving cost optimization for application performance in the cloud poses significant challenges for organizations. Balancing the need for high-performance applications with cost-efficiency requires navigating complex cloud service pricing models, dynamically scaling resources based on fluctuating workloads, and ensuring optimal utilization of cloud infrastructure.
Solution:
This paper discusses how AI can contribute to lowering cloud costs and optimizing application performance. The organization develops a dashboard using an AI algorithm to analyze usage patterns, track cloud usage and expenses, and deliver real-time visibility along with performance metrics (Resource utilization, active and standby instance etc.) Through continuous monitoring and adaptive learning, these systems accurately identify the root cause of issues, apply effective solutions, and validate them in real-time.
For example, if a memory leak causes an application slowdown, a self-healing system adjusts memory allocation on the fly to stabilize performance. This automation ensures applications run optimally, with minimal downtime and intervention.
AI can enable a cost-effective without compromising the quality, reliability, and performance of the application and Shift-left approach that can be implemented to manage the cost savings.
